Title: AI in Language Education

Objective:
The objective of this special issue is to examine how artificial intelligence (AI) technologies intersect with linguistics and education, specifically focusing on applied linguistic perspectives. This issue aims to explore the potential applications of AI in language learning, teaching, assessment, and linguistic research, as well as the challenges and ethical considerations that arise in this context.

Scope and Topics:
We invite researchers from various disciplines to submit original research, case studies, and theoretical papers addressing but not limited to the following topics:
– AI-enhanced language learning environments
– AI-based corpus linguistics and linguistic research
– AI-enhanced teaching of language in literature and culture
– AI-powered language teaching pedagogies
– AI-powered non-native language acquisition
– AI-enhanced games and gamification in language education
– AI-driven language curriculum design and delivery
– AI-enhanced language assessment practices

Methodology:
Papers should employ rigorous methodologies, including empirical studies, quantitative and qualitative analysis, experimental designs, case studies, or theoretical frameworks, to investigate the impact of AI in language education. Comparative studies examining the effectiveness of AI-driven interventions in language education are welcome.

Target Audience:
This special issue would interest researchers, educators, and linguistic practitioners working in the field of applied linguistics, language education, computational linguistics, and related disciplines. It aims to bridge the gap between AI and linguistics to foster collaboration in understanding and harnessing the potential of AI in applied linguistic contexts and to maximize the potential of AI in improving education.
