Assistant Professor, Modern Greek Literature

Princeton University, Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies, invites applications for a tenure-track position (assistant professor) in Modern Greek Literature, to begin September 1, 2014.  The successful candidate will be appointed full-time in an academic department, with “associated faculty” status in Hellenic Studies.  Home department to be determined on the basis of the appointee’s disciplinary focus.  Preferred fields of expertise:  the reception of the Classics in modern Greek culture, Renaissance to the present;  translation theory and practice;  literature and visual culture.   Candidates with comparative interests and a commitment to excellence in research and teaching are encouraged to apply.   Ph.D. completed by start date.
