European Society for Modern Greek Studies
The European Society for Modern Greek Studies is a scholarly society that was founded in 1995. The aim of the society is the advancement of research and teaching in the fields of Modern Greek language, literature, history and culture in its broadest sense. Its regular members are the respective Modern Greek Studies Associations of the following European countries:

- Bulgaria
- the Chech Republic
- France
- Germany
- Georgia
- Great Britain
- Italy
- the Netherlands
- Romania
- the Scandinavian countries
- Serbia and Montenegro
- the Slovac Republic
- Spain
- Switzerland.

- provides regular information on its activities,
- gives necessary information about those European universities where Modern Greek Studies are offered,
- facilitates exchange between European Neohellenists and between the official institutions supporting Modern Greek Studies and serves the communication on a world-wide level between all those who are engaged in Modern Greek Studies or share an interest in them.
